netflix - stranger things 4 DOOH
As part of a global out-of-home campaign to promote the launch of the Stranger Things Season 4, we were tasked with designing and creating an eye-catching 3D anamorphic creative to be used across different sites, including multiple locations in Times Square, LA and Stockholm.
Inspired by the global Rift campaign to promote the launch of Netflix’s Stranger Things series, we created a suite of billboards that would be sure to (almost literally) grab attention.
The concept was designed to incorporate iconic elements of The Upside Down, while considering multiple different resolutions, screen configurations and audience viewing angles - an incredibly challenging task for a project of this type, as most of the 3D illusion comes from crafting the animation to be viewed at one specific viewing angle on each unique screen.
We chose to use the silhouette of the Demogorgon, the vines and the spores, which are all relatively simple but instantly recognisable elements of the show that have a big impact on the giant screens. The Rifts are a big part of series 4, so recreating the look of this element was crucial to the overall concept.
